Long Island Man Steals From One Apartment, Then Enters Another One, Police Say

A Long Island man was arrested for burglary after allegedly stealing two iPhones from an apartment and then forcing his way into another apartment before police arrived.

Nassau County Police said the Far Rockaway man was arrested around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, in Inwood.

According to detectives, a man was sleeping in his apartment located on Bayview Avenue when he woke up and found Kamarion King, 26, in his bedroom. 

King ran out through the back door and fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim searched his apartment and discovered that two iPhones were missing and called police. 

Police responded and a short time later King allegedly returned to the building and knocked on the door of another apartment. 

When a woman answered the door, he forced himself in and ran upstairs. Police entered the apartment and King allegedly physically resisted arrest before finally being placed into police custody, police said.  

No injuries reported at the scene.

King was charged with:

  • Burglary
  • Criminal trespass
  • Grand larceny
  • Resisting arrest

He is being held for arraignment on Wednesday.
